MIRPUR (Hayat News) – In a targeted crackdown against drug traffickers in ajk Mirpur district, local police apprehended 10 individuals and seized significant quantities of narcotics and alcohol, according to a press release issued on Thursday.
The operations led to the confiscation of 1.5 kilograms of heroin, 150 bottles of liquor, and several vehicles, including motorcycles allegedly used in the illegal activities.
Acting on directives from SSP Mirpur Khawar Ali Shoukat, Dadyal Police arrested Waqar Ali from Kharak Dhok Meera and Muhammad Junaid Ali from Sector B3, recovering heroin valued in the lakhs. Their vehicle, allegedly used in the transportation of drugs, was also impounded.
In a separate operation, CIA staff in Mirpur conducted two raids in the city area. They apprehended Abid Sakon in New City Mirpur, seizing 87 bottles of liquor, along with a vehicle linked to the accused.
Additionally, Azhar, a Faisalabad resident, was arrested while attempting to transport 15 bottles of liquor. His motorcycle was confiscated as part of the operation.
Islamgarh Police also arrested Muhammad Hafeez, alias Keinchi, from Kilal Bansi in Mirpur district. Hafeez, who was reportedly a proclaimed offender, was found with 48 bottles of liquor and is suspected of involvement in multiple drug trafficking cases.
