Rawalakot, AJK Information Minister, Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing all necessary resources for the development of Poonch, from primary schools to a medical college.
Speaking to a delegation in Rawalakot, he highlighted the transformative potential of the Toli Peer road project, stating that its completion will significantly uplift the region. The government has already allocated funds for the road, which is expected to enhance connectivity and improve local livelihoods. The minister further noted that Prime Minister Azad Kashmir’s frequent visits to Poonch are part of a strategy to address the region’s challenges and alleviate the struggles faced by its people. As a result of these efforts, the public is increasingly holding disruptive elements accountable.
The Information Minister emphasized his awareness of the infrastructural and educational needs in Poonch and assured that these concerns would be addressed. He reiterated that the development of Poonch remains a top priority for Prime Minister Azad Kashmir, who recently visited Poonch Medical College to review and resolve issues faced by the institution.
The minister also pointed out the region’s vast potential for tourism, calling it the key to Poonch’s prosperity. With the growth of tourism, he said, the region will experience widespread economic benefits, bringing prosperity to its residents.
He praised the people of Poonch, describing them as intelligent, passionate, and having a rich, enduring history.
