Muzaffarabad : Former President and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Yaqoob Khan, as well as a Member of the Legislative Assembly and Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, has strongly condemned the recent sentencing of Yasin Malik by an Indian court. Calling the move deplorable, he emphasized that the entire Kashmiri nation stands in solidarity with Malik, expressing deep concern for his health, especially as he undertakes a hunger strike.
Sardar Yaqoob called on the international community to recognize the ongoing persecution of Kashmiri leaders and urged for their immediate release. He stated firmly that Kashmiris will never relinquish their right to self-determination. Reflecting on decades of struggle and countless sacrifices, he reiterated that the Kashmiri people remain resolute in their pursuit of freedom.
He highlighted the severe restrictions and deprivation of basic rights in the region, describing Kashmir as the “world’s largest prison.” Sardar Yaqoob urged global powers to actively advocate for Kashmiris’ fundamental rights, condemning the hypocrisy of those who promote a façade of democracy while suppressing Kashmir’s voice.
Emphasizing the unity of the Kashmiri people with their leaders, Sardar Yaqoob assured that the sacrifices of martyrs are not forgotten. He pledged that the movement for freedom and the mission of the Kashmiri people will continue undeterred, honoring the legacy of those who have sacrificed their lives for the cause.
