ASHGABAT,President Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which both leaders underscored the need to further enhance bilateral ties.
This informal meeting took place on the sidelines of the two-day international forum titled “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations: A Foundation for Peace and Development,” held in the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat. The event was organized in celebration of the 300th birth anniversary of Magtymguly Faragi, a renowned Turkmen poet, philosopher, and thinker.
According to a press release from the President House, both leaders extended warm wishes to one another during their exchange.
President Zardari, who arrived in Ashgabat on Thursday for a two-day official visit, also delivered a speech at the forum, which was attended by several regional leaders, including Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Tajik President Emomali Rehmon, and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
In his address, President Zardari praised the Turkmen government and people for hosting the event, emphasizing that it offered a valuable opportunity to engage with leaders from neighboring nations.
